First of all, thank you so much for considering me for your commission request! 

Price:

I am available to create any musical content or sound effect you need for your projects. Every project and situation is different, so the pricing of these commissions is always something we can adjust based on your expected budget.

My average rate for my last few commissions for single-person developers and content creators is around $250 per minute of music.

For SFX it usually depends on how many you need, so it’s probably best to talk through more specifics first.

Process:

As far as my process is concerned, it usually looks like this:

-References-

Feel free to send me whatever information you think I need to imagine what you’re imagining. That can be specific other songs, games, videos, pictures, scenes in movies; or it can be vague ideas, adjectives, etc. I’ll probably ask some follow-up questions either way, so feel free to send whatever you want to send. 

-Concept-

After that my plan will be to send you a slice of an idea. 

That slice will usually be just a small portion of an idea to see if it’s in the right ballpark. Ideally you should treat that concept like a sketch of a drawing: it will lack color and polish, it won’t “feel” complete, but it should at least give you an idea of where it’s going. I’ll take any feedback or thoughts you have and keep developing the idea. After a few iterations, once we both know that we’re really excited about where the concept is headed, I’ll work on making it into a full “thing”! 

-Finalizing-

Once it’s all finished, I’ll make sure you have any kind of version and variation you might need. If you’re a content creator, it would probably make sense to have versions of a song that can loop endlessly, or have beginnings and endings, or have a version that cuts the melody or percussion parts, or any other number of variations. You just let me know what you need!

Timeline:

The whole process will always take at least 1-2 weeks once I get started with concept development. My goal will be to send you an update every few days, or at least once a week. I will always let you know as early as possible if I expect any delays. 

Permissions:

And after all that, we’ll make sure there’s a contract in place to ensure that you are the only person on the planet allowed to use the music for commercial purposes. I will usually ask if it’s alright for me to post the finished product on some combination of Soundcloud, Bandcamp, Spotify, or Youtube, and it’s completely up to you on where you want the music to be seen. We can also talk about enabling Content ID for this music to ensure you are the only one allowed to use it on Youtube or Twitch.
